The College of Lactation Consultants Victoria Inc offers both Full Membership and Associate membership. If you are interested in joining, you can fill in and post the Membership Form (please enclose payment with your application).

Who can join the College?
Membership is available to qualified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). The majority of the College members are ABA Counsellors or Health Professionals (nurses, midwives, medical practitioners, dietitians, physiotherapists, speech pathologists and medical scientists). Associate Membership is open to any of the above Health Professionals or ABA Counsellors who have a commitment to breastfeeding, but are not qualified Lactation Consultants. Associate Members can participate fully, except for voting rights and holding office.

CLC-VIC Newsletter
The CLC-VIC Newsletter is sent to all College members on a quarterly basis. The Newsletter contains College news, Committee activities, information about upcoming seminars and conferences. Information about community resources is also included. Profiles of Committee members, reviews, lactation-related websites and other small articles of interest are also included.
Helpline
The CLC-VIC Helpline is a service provided to all our members. The Helpline is a source of information and support for our members who are working with mothers and babies and breastfeeding. A number (3 at the present time) of our most experienced members have their telephone numbers listed, and any member can ring them at any time. This valuable resource is particularly useful when one is trying to solve difficult or unusual problems, or if one is geographically isolated from colleagues with whom to discuss the challenges of our work or to confirm that certain actions are appropriate. Of course, Helpline is also open to any member who simply needs to reach out to a colleague for social support and understanding in times of work related stress.
Sponsorship of ABA ’s Mary Paton Research Award
The Mary Paton Research Award for the best original paper on breastfeeding is presented by the Australian Breastfeeding Association to stimulate Australian research into breastfeeding. CLC-VIC has sponsored this valuable award since 2002 and has an ongoing commitment to remain a sponsor of the award.
Nomination/Voting Rights
Full members have the right to nominate and vote for the Committee of Management.

$300 Scholarships
To fulfil the College’s aims of supporting and encouraging Lactation Consultants and fostering lactation education for health professionals, the College offers a number of annual Scholarships. There are two categories of Scholarship - 1) Associate Members of the College who are expanding their education and qualifications by sitting the IBLCE exam for the first time and 2) Full members who are dedicated to maintaining their IBLCE qualification by preparing and RESITTING the exam.
As per our guidelines, the College will award a Scholarship to both Country and City applicants in each category, if the opportunity arises.
